Frequently asked questions

What organisers ask us before they decide. If your question is not here, call us.

Sizing the installation

What do I need, and how much of it

How many booths do I need for a conference in three languages?

We count one booth per target language, meaning each language you interpret into. If the room works in French and you interpret into Arabic and English, two booths are enough. If all three languages are both spoken from the platform and listened to on headsets, you need three.

Why do you need two interpreters per booth?

Simultaneous interpreting demands a level of concentration that cannot be held for more than twenty to thirty minutes at a stretch. The two interpreters in a booth take turns at that rhythm throughout the day. A single interpreter is only an option for a very short assignment.

How many receivers should I plan for 200 participants?

We start from the number of participants and add about 10% as a margin, rounded up to the nearest ten: for 200 participants, that makes 220 receivers. The margin covers unannounced arrivals, accompanying guests and units set aside during the day.

The room has no sound system. Is that a problem?

No. We supply the speakers, the podium, table and wireless microphones, and the mixing console. It is often preferable: a sound system we control lets us take a clean feed for the interpreters, which is not always possible with a room's existing installation.

On the day of the event

How are receivers handed out to participants?

Receivers are handed out at the entrance against an ID document, counted at handover and at return, and the headsets are disinfected between sessions. Participants choose their language with a dial and set their own volume.

Does a technician stay on site during the sessions?

Yes, a technician stays in the room for the whole event: adjusting levels, switching channels, replacing a faulty receiver. Set-up, testing and dismantling are also handled by us.

Do you visit the room before the event?

For rooms we do not know yet, yes, before quoting. Ceiling height, the position of the platform, access points and circulation constraints determine where the booths go and what infrared coverage is needed.

Practical matters

Lead times, terms and scope

Do you work outside Fès?

We are based in Fès and move the equipment anywhere in Morocco: Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Tangier, Tetouan, Agadir, Oujda, Laayoune, Dakhla, Ifrane and elsewhere. Transport is included in the quote, with no extra charge on arrival.

Do you also provide the interpreters?

Yes. Deux : Points is first an interpreting and translation agency; equipment rental came afterwards. You can rent the equipment alone, or entrust everything to one team.

How far in advance should we book?

We can set up an installation on twenty-four hours' notice, and we do so regularly. That said, the earlier you tell us the better: it leaves time to visit the room and to book interpreters, who are often the tightest constraint for rare language combinations.

Do you require a deposit?

We ask for a 40% deposit when the order is confirmed. Terms for the balance are set out in the quote.

What happens if we have to cancel?

We charge no cancellation penalty and the deposit is refunded. A postponed or cancelled event is not a fault, and we prefer to keep the relationship intact for next time. Just let us know as soon as the decision is made.

Is there a minimum rental period?

No. We equip a two-hour meeting as readily as a congress lasting several days. There is no minimum duration or number of units: twenty headsets for a management committee is a request like any other.
